We cover the part of real estate investing that doesn't make the consumer headlines: how investor financing actually works, what the market data actually says, where rate environment shifts reshape demand, and which strategies and tactics produce real returns versus wasted capital.
Our writing is for professionals: people building rental portfolios, running broker shops, or allocating capital seriously enough to need real analysis. We try to write the kind of piece we'd want to read ourselves - specific numbers, honest tradeoffs, no platitudes.
We don't take payment for editorial coverage. We don't write paid placements disguised as articles. We disclose every commercial relationship. We try to be specific, even when specificity makes us slightly wrong; vague writing is worse than confidently wrong writing because it's harder to disagree with productively.
We make mistakes. When we do, we correct them in place and acknowledge the correction. Trade publications that pretend to be infallible aren't worth reading.
Portfoligrow is a small editorial operation. Two contributors handle most of the writing; both bring direct industry experience to what they cover.
Samantha leads Portfoligrow's editorial coverage of DSCR origination operations, lender relationships, and broker strategy. Before joining Portfoligrow, she spent eight years as a non-QM originator in Tennessee and Texas, closing over 400 DSCR loans across single-family, small multifamily, and short-term rental property types. Her writing focuses on the operational details that separate sustainably profitable broker shops from the rest of the market.
Alex covers mortgage marketing strategy, paid acquisition economics, and how macro rate environment shifts reshape investor demand and broker operations. His background is in performance marketing for financial services, with a particular focus on non-QM advertising compliance under tightening platform restrictions. He writes the kind of analysis brokers and originators read when they want numbers instead of platitudes.
